Message from the President
Welcome to ClanRossAmerica!

ClanRossAmerica (CRA) is celebrating more than 40 years as a charitable and educational non-profit organization whose goals include support for cultural heritage sites in Ross-shire, Scotland, and scholarships for CRA members who participate in highland sport, historical and cultural events, including dance, music, athletics, piping, and genealogical and historical research.

We all learn more about our Scottish heritage through our newsletters and website, and the links they provide to further news, learning and event announcements. And along the way, we have fun at the Games, renewing friendships and having a good time, wearing national dress or Ross tartan clothes and accessories in everyday life, enjoying classical Scottishand Celtic Rock music and the dozens of activities at the Games. We are most visible at Highland Games and Celtic Festivals at around 40 events across the country each year - everybody in America celebrates THEIR heritage - come join us in learning about, and celebrating our Scottish Heritage!

As a group, we share out highland heritage with reports from Ross-shire and other Clan areas, including with pictures and videos of our Clan lands and setting, and historic local buildings and landmarks, for those who can’t travel there in person. As an “electronic clan”, we share our identity, and sense of belonging to an extended family (the original meaning of “clan”) online.

ClanRossAmerica's most important work is supporting and preserving Clan-related historical artifacts and buildings in Scotland, and building for the future by sharing our heritage through scholarships to members and children of members.  Explore our website at www.clanross.org for info about these programs and grants and news of Scotland and the clans, and current events in the clan “homeland”.

CRA is a 501c3 non-profit. Your membership donation should be tax deductible.

Scottish Highland Games

Let the Games begin!

This year we look forward to publically celebrating our Scottish heritage.

Scottish Highland Games are held across America in more than 140 communities.  Clan Ross has representation at about 40 Games, hosted by volunteers who share their knowledge and stories with hundreds of visitors, while answering questions about Scotland, history, genealogy, tartan fabrics and other traditions. We feature a friendly welcome and information about famous Rosses and what is in Ross-shire, Scotland. The information to be acquired will feed your interest for a better understanding of your ancestors - their experiences, where they have been, their beliefs, and what influnce those Scots may have had on the people who raised you...

Highland Games are family-oriented festivals of things-Scottish, including unique athletic events, Highland dancing, pipes and drum competitions, Celtic Rock band entertainers, British car shows, classical music, herding-dog exhibitions, children's game glens, plus vendors with Celtic-themed crafts and Scottish food & beverage treats.

See you at the Games!
